SNMP provides a basic level of reporting, enabling network managers to view statistics such as aggregate traffic volume. NewNet systems support SNMP V3, V2c for this level of reporting for system management. However additional insight is required to ensure performance, reliability and security.
NewNet’s Common Element Manager utilizes an SNMP foundation to provide management and reporting for payment networks relying upon NewNet’s Total Control STG and/or AccessGuard 1000 systems. A graphical user interface delivers real-time performance statistics down to the POS and host system level.
Real-time and scheduled reports deliver a wide range of statistics with threshold alarming for a range of possible performance impacting issues. Graphical and tabular reports deliver a quick overview or detailed analysis with drill down data to the device or customer supported network.
Proactive management can be triggered from the Common Elements Manager’s user interface for a global configuration of NewNet chassis groups or for software downloads. XML scripting adds the ability to easily customize reporting.
The ability to accurately track transaction transport usage for analysis as well as billing is fundamentally required to support the business goals of payment processors. Multiple customers, frequently with a mix of dial-up and IP connectivity can create a situation where it becomes difficult to identify network usage with the granularity required for accurate billing and auditing.
NewNet’s captures a wide range of statistics with usage down to the byte level from dial-up and IP-based POS systems. A wide range of data fields can be view in real-time or via scheduled reports to provide a solid foundation for customer billing, usage auditing and issue investigation.
