WiMax (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a wireless networking technology based on the 802.16e standard. NewNet’s WiMax portfolio of products includes Access Points, Access Service Network Gateways, CPE Devices, Network Management, Connectivity Service Network and Services. WiMax enables high-speed data and voice transfer over long distances. It is not affected by weather and does not require a direct line of sight to operate.

WiMax is effective for rural populations of users and is frequently used as a data transmission foundation for M2M applications such as smart meter reading for public utilities.
